"Through the fights, being abandoned, and the divorce between my parents my biological father realized he didn’t want to be a part of my life."
Kyra was between the ages of 5 and 12 years old when she faced her biggest obstacle to overcome...
"The hardest situation I’ve dealt with in my life was my broken relationship with my father.
Through the fights, being abandoned, and the divorce between my parents my biological father realized he didn’t want to be a part of my life.
It took a few years for it to actually happen and the hurt I had to experience all the while was hard. But I learned to stay tough and be strong and love who loved me - my mom.
I also met my step dad during the difficulties and he is more of a dad than anyone could ever be and he is amazing.
Now I have the best dad in the world and I’ve realized not everyone is meant to be in your life, even if they are blood."
Kyra's biggest inspiration is...
"My biggest inspiration is my grandma!
She is my best friend and my biggest supporter in all I do.
She was able to dream big and accomplish so much with her life and she inspires me every day to dream big and go for it!
She was an Air Force nurse and was able to travel the world and help people.
I want to travel the world and help people as well.
Making the earth a better place is what she taught me and I will strive my best to do that every single day."
Kyra's biggest accomplishment happened when she was 19...
"My biggest accomplishment was my volunteer trip abroad last summer.
I went to Tanzania is Africa to help build a school and teach English to local women who never had the opportunity to learn.
On my trip I learned so much about the culture and the way all of our lives connected.
The experience changed my view on the world completely and it was the best thing I have ever done with my life.
I plan on going on many more trips abroad to meet communities if amazing people and work to better everyone."
